Southern Methodist University and the Dallas Business Journal unveiled the 100 fastest-growing private companies in Dallas-Fort Worth at the Omni Dallas Hotel Thursday evening.

The list, known as Dallas 100, is compiled by SMU’s Cox School of Business Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship and is ranked by increased growth in sales, giving weight to percentage of growth and absolute growth between 2010 and 2012.

SMU started the list in 1990.

Eligible companies must be independent, privately held corporations, proprietorships or partnerships (not a subsidiary or division of a parent company), as of May 1, 2013; be located in the Dallas area; have had sales of more than $500,000 in fiscal 2010; have had sales of not more than $75 million in 2010; have a three-year sales history reflecting growth and have a credit report and character satisfying to the Dallas 100.
