Programs
Truly a full-service Economic Development agency, the Mansfield Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) has three programs that are staffed with full-time professional personnel.

Business Development and Marketing involves the active recruitment of new tax-paying entities to the City of Mansfield. It includes actions that are typical of marketing activities undertaken by private industries. The marketing of Mansfield to the rest of the world is accomplished through participation in trade shows; marketing trips; developing and fostering regional, state and national allies; distribution of press releases and working with the media, publishing a variety of marketing materials; hosting events involving corporate site locators, realtors and developers, etc.

The Business Retention program works to identify projects and resources that will aid in the retention of existing Mansfield businesses while assisting businesses to grow. Existing business operations contribute to our community’s economy in terms of employment, revenue and business linkages while helping in the MEDC’s recruiting efforts. When a business is successful, it acts as an ambassador for future growth. The Retention program encompasses annual visits to every manufacturing, warehousing and/or distribution business in Mansfield; hosting quarterly training workshops; informing local businesses of the area’s resources available to assist them; etc.

Finally, the Workforce Development program of the MEDC forges alliances with the community, the Mansfield Independent School District, Tarrant County College and the business sector to expand employment and training opportunities for local industry. The MEDC also works to address the unmet needs of the local workforce.
